Chair Tai Chi – Chi Kung will be offered from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 2 with Madeline Sofranac, a doctor of physical therapy. Enjoy simple, effective, hand and leg movements, postures, gentle deep breathing and pressure point techniques while remaining seated in a chair. Tai Chi–Chi Kung movements emphasize flow of internal energy to improve organ function, range of motion, blood pressure balance and overall physical and mental well-being. This class works well for seniors, physically challenged persons and folks recovering from surgeries or living with injuries.

Women’s Sexual Health Rejuvenation will meet 6-7 p.m. Oct. 3 with Jade McGaff, MD; a board certified OB-GYN with more than 40 years experience, specializing in bio-identical hormones and integrative medicine. Join in this informal discussion on genital rejuvenation, including changes with aging options for restoring function to your yoni and lingam (ancient Sanskrit). McGaff will go over the non-surgical options for bladder incontinence and recovering sexual drive and satisfaction. She will also review the benefits of bio-identical hormones.

Ancient Yoga with Deanna Olivier will meet from 11 a.m.-noon Oct. 4 and 18. This practice includes physical, mental and spiritual discipline for developing awareness, character and consciousness. It is an integrated system of exercise, breath control and meditation combining yoga postures with breathing techniques for a vigorous workout. Bring water, a yoga mat, if you have one, and a towel. Wear loose clothing.

What’s Erupting Now? Skin Health Naturally will be the topic for a presentation by Dr. Deborah Ardolf, ND, SLP from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Everyone has skin irritation at some point in their lives. Some are itchy or oozing; others are accompanied by redness or heat. From skin rashes to hives to the more serious and potentially life-threatening staph infection, Dr. Ardolf will teach attendees how to recognize and appropriately manage these problems.

Zumba Gold in a chair will meet from 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 5 with Renee Morinaka, a licensed Zumba instructor. This class is mainly for those who have mobility or balance issues but still love to move and dance. It includes a warm-up, dance party and cool-down stretching to upbeat music of various genres. Participants will sit during the entire class, while activating effective everyday hand, arm, leg and body movements. Bring water, a towel and wear covered shoes. This class will meet on the first Thursday monthly.

Ohana &Mama Yoga from 4-5 p.m. will be hosted Oct. 5 and 19 by Melinda Polet, RMT. With a background in music, dance, gymnastics and drama, Melinda sees life as a spiritual journey, and enjoys exploring self-expression. This program is an opportunity for moms, including pregnant women, to experience stretching and moving together with their babies between six weeks to six years old. Participants will learn Yin yoga, a tradition based on longer held poses to open the female channels in the body, as well as stretches suitable for pregnancy and post-birth.
